Each assembly relates to our Caterpillar Values as well as our British Values shown below:

Caterpillar Values: Compassion, Creativity, Community, Communicative, Courage, Conscientious, Courteous

British Values: Democracy, Rule of Law, Individual Liberty, Mutual Respect, Tolerance

In addition, we aim for our children to begin to understand inequality through the lens of fairness. Using carefully chosen texts and opportunities for discussion, we enable our children to develop an understanding of racial injustice. Each assembly relies heavily on participation of the children to bring them to life. Occasionally, we will deviate from the assembly plan to discuss a major world or local event. These are real issues for which children show a genuine interest and serve to develop their sense of place and awareness of the world.
